Butters, Lotions, & Oils, Oh My!

An at home trick to get the flawless silky smooth you've been dreaming of!

I swear I've found the eighth world wonder and it's all natural! About three months ago I started this new lotion regimen, and I have got to say it's answering my prayers. I first heard about this little beauty from a little video I on youtube from the user: TonyaTko. At the time I was searching for at home remedies for removing stretch marks and scars. Natural African Shea Butter and Olive Oil (I use extra virgin) are used to create this genius lotion. Of course this wonder is for sale in stores and online for i hefty price. However, being a college student, I for one don't have the money to purchase it. So while watching the video she tells us to get a great at home dup.  So for this you are going to need a bottle with an opening, african shea butter, and olive oil. First you fill 2/3 of the bottle with the shea butter. Afterward you fill the remaining of the bottle with the olive oil. At first the lotion will be separated but shaking it will allow it to mix nicely. It is best to use a loofa in the shower while exfoliating your skin. After you are all squeaky clean, pat dry and add the lotion on any part of your skin that you wish. It's best to run the lotion under warm water because as it sits, it solidifies. The warm water will help the lotion go on with ease. I've been using this for about three months and I can tell a huge difference in my skin. My scars are much lighter and my skin feels as smooth as a baby's bottom. Whether you are looking for a great organic moisturizer or you are trying to get rid of those unsightly scars this is the product for you.

Howling at the Moon!

Beauty lovers just might turn into wolves this spring with these ultra edgy moon manicures spotted everywhere from runways to magazines. I for one couldn't wait to try the look.
Here's how to get this high fashion look at home.

-First you will need two colors of your choice, I chose...
Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
and Pure Ice Free Fall

I decided to go with these colors because they are fun and create a nice contrast.

You will also need some reinforcement labels; these will be used to achieve the half moon. Any brand will do.

First you want to start off with fresh clean nails, the you want to apply the color you want your moon to be. I choose to use the Mint Sorbet as my base.
Then you apply the labels where you wish to have your moon, like below.
Now it's time to get down to business, you want to proceed to paint below the labels this will give you the moon look. Also I suggest doing multiple coats seeing how the second shade of nail polish will be lighter or darker due to the base coat.
After you achieve the hue you want, you can remove the labels and Voila! You have your moon manicure.
Feel free to do touch ups to get the look just right.

Hard Candy Lash Ink

This mascara is said to stain your lashes for 4 days. When my best friend told me about this I immediately thought I had to have it. Luckily my eyelashes are fairly long but with blonde hair comes blonde lashes. My lashes tend to look very short and stubby because the tip of them are light blonde and can be hard to see. Since I have this problem i love the look the dark hues that mascara gives them. So when i heard there was a stain that would keep lashes dark for 4 days; I thought it was sent from heaven. This product does exactly what it promises. Your lashes will be dark for numerous day, however it given absolutely NO volume to them and gives them a hard clumpy look. I wasn't satisfied with this product and I'd much rather use mascara daily then this every 4 days. But some may like it, I have the remaining to my sister and she adores it.  I guess its just one of those products that give people different results, so feel free to try it. Hard Candy Lash ink is available at Walmart for $7.00.

Brace yourself for Lace!

When I found out that one of the trends coming to us in spring 2011 was lace, I got super excited. I've been searching for the perfect lace dress and found this one above and i am determined to make it mine. I absolutely love lace. Its ultra girly and can be dressed up or dressed down. The flowery lace is perfect for spring and I for one can't wait to strut my stuff in all different types of lace. Feminine dresses like the one above would be perfect for a date or a night on the town. So ladies get ready to sport this classic fabric.

Review of the Kathy Van Zeeland Mr. Postman Satchel

The moment I seen this handbag I fell in love. This bag is covered in a variety of colorful postcards from around the world. It’s a Summer 2011 limited addition Kath Van Zeeland Satchel that is to die for. I am currently counting my lucky stars that I ordered mine before it was out of stock. Although the multicolor bag is currently unavailable you can still purchase it in black and white from QVC by clicking here! The exterior of the bag is 100% vinyl with a 100% polyester interior. The bag also comes with a detachable crossbody strap for your convenience as well as a adorable charms that can be removed and double as a keychain. The bag has a top zipper closure along with a large front pocket equipped with a magnetic closure. Inside the bag is very open and quite roomy. It has a zipper compartment on the back well as well as a few slit pockets on the opposite side. The bag is about 13” long, 4” wide, and almost 11” tall. For exact measurements you can visit QVC. This print is also available on a larger satchel but I was unable to find it. However, like all great people this bag has its flaws. It’s a bit on the heavy side but nothing too unbearable. It also has somewhat of a strong odor, some reviews have said it was so terrible they had to return the bag. Fortunately for me, when I received my bag the smell was minor and smelt like any other new bag would smell. Like I said before, this was love at first sight; so if your feelings are like mine when I first seen it I highly recommend you getting it. I promise you won’t be disappointed, I know i wasn’t.

The bag cost $89.00 plus tax and S&H
When I ordered mine my total came out to $101.99 but it was definitely worth it.

H&M Interview outfit

I had an interview on Monday for H&M, and I got a new outfit for it. Although I didn't get the job because of my lack of experience, they still loved my outfit. For my outfit I choose...

Since imy orginal interview was going to be St. Patty’s Day I wanted to wear green to show my irish pride :) so  I opted for this pretty flowy top from Charlotte Russe.

Then to contrast this I wanted to wear a burgundy scarf, but i found this Ikat Printed Scarf that had a mixture of warm tones that would contrast the green nicely. It also has a few green, blue, and shimmery threads within it (also from Charlotte Russe).

This being an outfit for an interview I wanted to look a bit professional but staying fashionable so i chose a fitted black blazer to finish off the top. Like the one shown below, (from Kohls) I will be wearing it with the sleeves cuffed and jacket opened.

For pants i didn't want to wear the traditional slacks, so i chose to pair the above with black skinnys. They are black and aren't jeans so they look more professional. The exact ones I got were actually from Walmart for $13, instead of the ones I planned on getting from forever 21 for $25. I actually like the ones from Walmart better because they don't bunch at the end but the other did once I tried them on, but it's pretty much the same look for a lower price!

Now for shoes, I originally  planned to wear round toe booties or pumps, but once i saw these bad boys i fell in love. They were around $38 dollars from Charlotte Russe, but they were having their sale where you buy one get another one for $10 and my sis needed a pair so we got two pair of shoes that costs $40 each for $50.

For Jewelry, I wanted to keep it simple. Just studs and a few bangles.

Orginally, I wanted to wear black nails but then I decided I didn't want that much black. Then I picked out a dark purple, but while at Walmart I saw the Sally Hansen Choco-Latte color and thought it was a perfect color. ($6.50)

Then For makeup, I am going for a shimmery Peach eye shadow with dewy bronzer and mascara with a simple lip as seen on Hayden Panettiere below. I thought this would be perfect because it's fresh and just right for the upcoming spring months.

Lastly for my hair I plan on curling with my ConAir You Curl Curling Wand and pulling majority of the hair back while letting a few curls fall so their isn't too much going on around the neck; like Taylor Swift soft updo below.

I was very excited for this interview, and the reason none of the stuff is from H&M is because I didn't bring any of my stuff from there home and I don't want them to think I was buying stuff from them to suck up for the interview.

Le ♥
